A Fun Adventure Game with Time Travel at Its Core

Time Mysteries: Inheritance is an adventurous time travel game, which is supposedly the first of the games in the trilogy. Time travel may be a clichéd subject, but this game manages to delve into it without getting mundane.

Game Premise

The plot starts with a young doctor, Vivien Ambrose, who heads to her dad’s house to share and celebrate her latest scientific achievement. Upon reaching the place, she finds her dad missing. While trying to learn more about her dad’s disappearance, she comes across a strange letter that bestows an unforeseen family inheritance upon her. The inheritance comprises a crystal ball and seven magic rings. These items can give her the power to time travel. The artefacts also provide Vivien some hints on her dad’s state. Apparently, her father has been taken away by an unidentified time traveler for no clear reason. Vivien goes through an adventurous, albeit dangerous journey through space and time to locate her father.

Gameplay and Modes

In this game, you would try to find a few hidden objects. This three-hour long game comes in a couple of modes: regular and expert. The regular mode provides a brief recharge period for skipping a puzzle. The scenes involving hidden objects rendered sharply, and which are tough and plentiful. There are several items stashed deep in clusters of items; however, they are pretty straightforward. You will not be opening containers, combining pieces, or using properties to locate another thing. The basic objective is to locate objects from a predetermined list.

PROS

  • Good production value
  • Unique and fun

CONS

  • Searches develop a pattern
  • Every time period has only two locations
